Who are you?

My name is Denitra Townsend. I am Strong, Empowered and Classy.

What do you do?

I am an Image Specialist. I provide Appearance Maintenance services to individuals, including musical and stage artists. I provide wardrobe styling, personal shopping and Image coaching. I provide freelance beauty services, such as makeup application and freelance product education and advocacy. I am also a licensed cosmetologist and manicurist. I am a public speaker and trainer in my industry as well.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about helping others discover their God-given beauty and style! I have become more passionate about encouraging the use of organic and natural beauty products. I am also very passionate about sharing my unique journey and career path with others who may show interest in my industry.

Strength refers to the quality or state of being strong; bodily or muscular power; vigor; mental power, force; moral power, firmness, courage; power by reason of influence, authority, resources, numbers, etc. What makes you strong? Tell us how it strengthens you.

As cliche’ as it may sound, my weaknesses make me strong. More specifically, I use them to discover the areas that need improving in my life and I take the steps to be better.

Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, educational, gender, or economic strength of individuals and communities. Where does your sense of empowerment derive from?

I am empowered by my faith in God, and the inspiration that comes from other like-minded individuals. Everyone has a story, and I am inspired by other’s journey toward success.

Classy refers to being elegant, stylish; having or reflecting high standards of personal behavior; admirably skillful and graceful. How important is it to maintain a sense of class in your life or field?

In my field of work, it is extremely important for me to maintain a sense of class. In my industry, I believe that it is more acceptable to be unique, however, in doing so, at times, this can be portrayed in the wrong way. It’s important to me to set and be a standard and an example to those who are watching.

Life is truly a journey. Are you proud of where and who you are right now? Why?

I am extremely proud of my journey. It has not been an easy one, but it has taught me to value “the moment” and to learn from it. This journey has allowed me to remain humble and hungry!

If you had the opportunity to speak for the masses, what would you say?

LOVE ME AS I AM, MY PROGRESS IS A PROCESS!
