Solomon Martin Interview

Who are you?Solomon Martin

SM: My name is Solomon Martin aka Three-O aka OLOS aka Too Many Nicknames. I am, Strong, Empowered and Classy.

What do you do?

SM: I’m a beat maker/producer.

What are you passionate about?

SM: Hip Hop

Strength refers to the quality or state of being strong; bodily or muscular power; vigor; mental power, force; moral power, firmness, courage; power by reason of influence, authority, resources, numbers, etc. What makes you strong? Tell us how it strengthens you.

SM: What makes me strong in what I do are other beat makers and producers that are out here making music and trying to strengthen the culture of hip hop. They inspire me to step my game up with every beat I try to make. Every competition I’m apart of, I’m trying to learn from them and I’m sure they’re trying to learn from me.

Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, educational, gender, or economic strength of individuals and communities. Where does your sense of empowerment derive from?

SM: My sense of empowerment comes from the hip hop community here in Detroit and to an extent Lansing. Even though I may play a small part in the hip hop scene here, it feels great and it’s empowering to know that people feel my beats and my style and that maybe I am inspiring someone somewhere…

Classy refers to being elegant, stylish; having or reflecting high standards of personal behavior; admirably skillful and graceful. How important is it to maintain a sense of class in your life or field?

SM: It’s really important to maintain a sense of class, not just in my field but in any field; it’s one of the necessities to being successful. Being classy shows I take myself and what I do seriously. Plus, if I don’t stay classy in some way, no one would want to work with me; just like in any other real world situation. Being classy pays.

Life is truly Solomon Martina journey. Are you proud of where and who you are right now? Why?

SM: No matter where I am in my life I don’t think I’ll be proud of where I am, especially right now. I’m still growing and when I get to a point in my life where I think it’s just perfect, I’ll still be growing and trying to expand. I never ever want to be content because being content may lead to laziness. Always got to stay pushing ahead.

AllINeedIsOneMic.com is a company that may also feature the Jane Thang Productions, LLC’s Strong, Empowered and Classy Project Highlights. The premise of this site refers to needing that one opportunity to present your talent and shine. If you had the opportunity to speak for the masses, what would you say?

SM: If I had a chance to speak to the masses I would say don’t lose sight of your goals or dreams. Most of the time obstacles block our path during life but that should not stop anyone from achieving their objective. Stay positive and remove all negativity from around you.
