BrownBeauty In the City

So I made it out to my city, Detroit on Saturday, July 27, 2013 to attend My BrownBox’s BrownBeauty In the City at The Natural Market and it was such an amazing experience. Not only was the event filled with beautiful women of color with gorgeous hair and attire, but Downtown Detroit was the perfect backdrop for such an occasion. Brittney Marshall, owner of My BrownBox, stopped us all in our tracks with her colorful Jeffrey Campbell high heel shoes and absolutely stole the show when we all saw them light up! BrownBeautyIntheCityDET0076She was on fire and totally in her element as she came bearing bags of goodies and treats for all of her BrownBeauty guest to receive. Victoria Roby, owner of The Natural Market, is the master at mixing her own natural bath and body products and we soon found out that her mixing skills didn’t stop there as she mixed up and served the drinks. Cocktails and cupcakes were indulged, as women mingled, networked, and luxuriated in the most positive atmosphere of like-minded individuals.  Even when it rained, the kind-hearted neighboring business, Nora’s Vintage Loft, allowed the festivities to continue in their store. There were raffles giveaways, product swaps, live make-up tutorials by makeup artist, Shalonda A., a natural hair panel discussion, a fashion show and plenty of product samplings! I was personally honored to participate as one of the panelist for the natural hair panel along with Lauren Bealore of YAB, and Simone Thomas. Other businesses along the strip kept their welcoming doors open for business on this beautiful day, such as N.V. US 2 A Stylish Boutique and DSE, Union of Definitive Style Exclusive – Detroit, MI. Overall,  BrownBeauty In the City was a major success! Don’t miss the next one and enjoy the pictures Loves! 🙂
