Chante Truscott

Who are you?

My name is Chante Truscott and I am, Strong, Empowered and Classy.

What do you do?

I am the Founder of Wives in Waiting, a movement that equips women with a foundation in a relationship with God that guides every other relationship is their lives.

What are you passionate about?

Seeing women be the best versions of themselves, not pretending to be what they see on TV or another woman doing. But being an authentic YOU!

Strength refers to the quality or state of being strong; bodily or muscular power; vigor; mental power, force; moral power, firmness, courage; power by reason of influence, authority, resources, numbers, etc. What makes you strong? Tell us how it strengthens you.

What makes me strong are the things that have tried to bring me down. Life happens to everyone but through my faith in God and my convictions I know that there is nothing strong enough to defeat. What God has placed inside each of us is so much stronger than those things that we come against. Struggle, loss, disappointment, and heartache have made me stronger because they have pushed me closer to Him. I can do all things through my Creator.

Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, educational, gender, or economic strength of individuals and communities. Where does your sense of empowerment derive from?

My strength of empowerment comes from knowing there is Someone greater than me that knows the end from the beginning. Each journey we all take is leading us to eternity. As a woman, it’s important to understand how much we contribute to every aspect of life. Once we realize who we are created to be, we won’t have to worry about doing a job someone else was made for.

IMG_0045Classy refers to being elegant, stylish; having or reflecting high standards of personal behavior; admirably skillful and graceful. How important is it to maintain a sense of class in your life or field?

I believe that women are just as visual as men. If you don’t look like what you’re talking about, people aren’t willing to listen to what you have to say. Being classy has to be something that starts on the inside and bleeds through to the outside. A classy spirit can’t be extinguished in classless clothing or behavior. Again, understanding that we were all created with care and a specific purpose in mind should be at the forefront of our decisions on how we carry ourselves, how we dress, how we speak and how we act.

Life is truly a journey. Are you proud of where and who you are right now? Why?

At this point in my life, I would say yes I am proud of where and who I am. For so long I struggled with trying to please people and be who they needed me to be that I didn’t take any time to find out who I was. Now that I’m delivered from people, I am free to be me, flaws and all. I embrace what I used to be embarrassed about myself. Any changes I make to Chante are because I want to enhance what’s already there, not because I don’t love that part of myself. I am by no means perfect or where I desire to be, but I know that there is a time and a season for everything and if I keep listening and doing what’s asked of me everything will be made beautiful in its own time. I try very hard to improve myself in some small way every single day. I want to please God in all that I do and that is a constant, fulfilling assignment.

If you had the opportunity to speak for the masses, what would you say?

Being genuine is much easier than being counterfeit.
