Who are you?
EM: I am Ebone’ McCloud and I am Strong, Empowered and Classy.
What do you do?
EM: I am a freelance fashion stylist, poet/spoken word artist and a ‘Life Artist’, which is someone who creates in every aspect of their life with all that they do.
What are you passionate about?
EM: I am really passionate about my spirituality and the creative projects that I put out and involve myself with. I really love understanding both my creativity and my inner being because it allows me to communicate better with people. I am also passionate about relationships with people. I think it is genuinely beautiful when you can build with others and be open and receptive to the energy they bring.
Strength refers to the quality or state of being strong; bodily or muscular power; vigor; mental power, force; moral power, firmness, courage; power by reason of influence, authority, resources, numbers, etc. What makes you strong? Tell us how it strengthens you.
EM: What makes me strong is literally my new found love for myself and the connection that I have with the God within. It took me many years to finally get this right but when I became comfortable with my connection with the Creator, I became comfortable with myself.
I honestly think that having the power come from within first, makes anyone strong. You have to believe in and love yourself first and foremost, for your strength to show. It’s an amazing feeling!
Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, educational, gender, or economic strength of individuals and communities. Where does your sense of empowerment derive from?
EM: My sense of empowerment also comes from the relationship that I have with God and my connection with self. I am also empowered by the beautiful people that I surround myself with. I am so grateful to have beings around that have love and respect for themselves, others and their craft. With their huge energy, I am able to feel strengthened and empowered by them.
Classy refers to being elegant, stylish; having or reflecting high standards of personal behavior; admirably skillful and graceful. How important is it to maintain a sense of class in your life or field?
EM: It is very important for me, or anyone, in my opinion, to maintain class in their life and field because you are your own brand at all times; you are your representative at all times. When someone meets me, I would like them to walk away with the impression that I am just as strong and classy as I perceive myself to be on the inside.
It’s important for me to maintain a level of class not only because I style women and promote it but because I believe that it elevates your inner workings; your inner truth, if it is pure!
Life is truly a journey. Are you proud of where and who you are right now? Why?
EM: I am extremely proud of who I am now. I have come a long way from the dark days of self-esteem, relationship, trust and God issues. I can honestly say that I have and am still traveling on a beautiful journey. The amount of growth that I have and am still experiencing sometimes brings tears to my eyes because it is so real.
Transformation means growth to me and I have transformed into so many beautiful aspects of my character that I didn’t even know was already innate in me. If I hadn’t experienced the things I have, I wouldn’t be where I am today, which is at a place of serenity and contentment.
I have been able to stretch my mind, thoughts and creativity by embracing my talent of styling and writing. I have been able to lift my voice and lend it to the ears of all of those who care to listen by way of my spoken word. I am still transforming and growing into more and more of myself each and every day. I am breaking down barriers and fears that are still with me but I am knowing that they too, will be transformed into something that works for my better good.
