Who are you?

NC: My name is Nakia Clarke. I am Strong, Empowered, and Classy!

What do you do?

NC: I am the owner of ProWorthy Global. PWG is a Marketing, Public Relations, and Special Events Planning Agency.

What are you passionate about?

NC: I am passionate about my career, volunteer work, and my family. I love helping people successfully enhance their businesses through strategic planning and media placements.

I started a nonprofit organization in 2007 called Women With A Vision Foundation. We help women who suffer from domestic violence and substance abuse. I started Women With A Vision with my mother. My family supports me in all my endeavors. We are very close.

Strength refers to the quality or state of being strong; bodily or muscular power; vigor; mental power, force; moral power, firmness, courage; power by reason of influence, authority, resources, numbers, etc. What makes you strong? Tell us how it strengthens you.

NC: My faith and my family strengthens me. I moved to Chicago a year and a half ago from Atlanta to work in Marketing. I didn’t know anyone that lived in Chicago. My boss decided to retire early, therefore leaving me without a job. It was my faith and my family that gave me the strength and encouragement to push forward. Therefore, I started my own business utilizing all of my contacts and skill set in marketing and PR.

Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, educational, gender, or economic strength of individuals and communities. Where does your sense of empowerment derive from?

NC: My empowerment comes from God, my family, and other colleagues in the Entertainment Industry.

Classy refers to being elegant, stylish; having or reflecting high standards of personal behavior; admirably skillful and graceful. How important is it to maintain a sense of class in your life or field?

NC: It is very important to me to hold myself with a high level of class while working in the Entertainment Industry. I talk with so many people to negotiate and/or arrange various events, interviews, and appearances and at times it gets very intense dealing with so many personalities. Not every deal gets done and sometimes we don’t always see eye to eye. When those difficult moments occur, handling myself with class and grace keeps me humble and gets me through rough situations.

Life is truly a journey. Are you proud of where and who you are right now? Why?

NC: Yes, I am proud. I love my life in Chicago. My career has taken so many unexpected twists & turns that has resulted in me meeting and working with many great people in the Industry such as Jay Leno, Jeremih, Spike Lee, Shannon and Monica Brown, etc. I am excited to see my company grow with my continued hard work, networking, and focus!
